Whitsundays Whitehaven Beach

Whitehaven Beach

The water at Whitehaven Beach is a breathtaking aquamarine as clear as fine crystal. The contrasting brilliant white silica sand creates a stark contrast and gives this one-of-a-kind place a feeling of pure fantasy. Whitehaven Beach is an award winner having been celebrated with the title of "Australia's Most Beautiful Beach" and "Queensland's Friendliest Beach" in 2009. In 2010, CNN awarded Whitehaven Beach its award for the "Worlds Best Eco-Friendly Beach", and it has been among Australia's "20 Best Experiences" time and again. It's easy to see why it is the most photographed beach in the entire world.

When accessing the north end of Whitehaven Beach our catamarans will moor up in Tongue Bay and transport you over to Whitsunday Island via tender. From here your Whitsundays Catamarans crew will guide you on a bush walk and then on to the lush fine sand of Whitehaven Beach. Once at the beach take time to explore the shallows for a glimpse of a number of Sting Rays and Reef Sharks basking in the sun warmed water.

To the south end of Whitehaven Beach you may get the chance to swim ashore from your chosen catamaran and feel as Captain Cook and the first settlers did when they sailed through the Whitsundays nearly 250 years ago.

Magnificent Whitehaven Beach has a stunning lookout point that you will see in all the brochures. From Betty's Beach in Tongue Bay there is a 20 minute bush trail to the lookout point, which shows you the entire 7 kilometre stretch of Whitehaven Beach and at the right tide the very photogenic 'swirly sands' effects of Hill Inlet.
